photograph and its story

 

I took this photo in the fall of 2021 at FAU while I was thinking about a design for a project and I did not have a good idea to do and I did not have much time to think, out of nowhere I look at the ground and see this fallen leaf that I found interesting, because of the size of the leaf I decided to take a picture to see it better, when I saw the photo I was impressed by the colors, the environment that it had and the minimal details that the leaf has.

After analyzing the shape of the leaf, I came up with a project that had the necessary fragility to support itself and according to the shape of the leaf when resting on the ground, in addition to having two points of support at each end, one with a concentrated and punctual mass while the other with a smaller slenderness, but with a large surface.

I remember having made a drawing that represented this same sheet but if it was an open-air theater but it was lost among a pile of papers and I do not have photographs of that drawing.

Postgraduate studies

 

I am currently studying architecture and I plan to do a postgraduate degree but in my two years of architecture I do not know how to do my job, and it scares me a little, maybe in more years I will consider doing a postgraduate degree, besides, I will need money because when I am studying I am totally focused on doing a great job and honestly I do not like to combine work with the study.

 

 But on the other hand I would like to have a postgraduate degree in my curriculum, that would give me more prestige and more money, although money does not matter to me as long as it allows me to have a decent life, and I would like to do a postgraduate degree in structure or something similar, because I like how you can make different complex shapes just to connect different elements to give more stability or durability to the construction, and about where I would like to do a postgraduate degree, definitely in Germany because I admire their determination and their way of doing things.

My dream job

When I was young, I dream whit become an astronaut, but my father tells me the space don’t have oxygen, and that change my mind, then I found it the architecture, a mix of two things I love, art and math, and since that moment I never change my dream to become an architect.

Now I am studying architecture, I have been in the career for 2 years and I have no regrets, is a little difficult but I want to be and architect, I can work indoors or outdoors, I prefer work outdoors but sometimes is necessary work indoors.

I would like to travel around the world making minimum one project in each country and I don’t care if the salary is low or high, if I can make my dream true is enough for me, and obviously if I can stay alive at the same time.

I don't know at what age I will stop working as an architect, possibly never, but definitely if I manage to win a Pritzker prize I would dedicate my life to another discipline.

My best holidays

 

I don’t remember exactly my best holydays, but it was three years ago, I traveled to Huilo huilo, it’s a beautiful place, I went with my father for one week only and definitely it was too short time, or that is how I feel one week there.

Huilo huilo is a big ecological reserve and the reason to get there is the landscape, I don’t remember very well but I think there were 2 or 3 amazing mountain waterfalls which was to seem them you nee to walk in the middle of the forest, also, in one of the many trails there is a volcan caverns where water falls from the river, it’s like a little waterfall, other things that you can do is relaxing  camping on the river of the Neltume lake or Pirihueico lake, or you can do other thing like rest in the famous Nothofagus hotel or eat some local food.

It was one of my best holidays because it was a bad year and I needed think how fix my life, and Huilo huilo it was like therapeutic help, walk around the forest whit the sound of the waterfalls and animals it’s a really unique experience.

Place I would love to visit

 Norway 

This country is one of my favorite places, I love everything about Norway, the beautiful landscapes, the incredible architecture, its culture, the climate, etc.

If I ever visit this country, I will need more than two weeks, because I don't have a specific place to visit, even, I would like to see the whole country and if I can live there, but if someone would ask me three must destinations, I will definitely visit 3 amazing places.

Under/ Restorant 

under is a restaurant that is located underwater and has a large window that gives an incredible view of the sea, besides, being in the southern part of Norway, the imposing weather with terrifying storms gives a totally opposite feeling to the interior of the restaurant.

this work of architecture was created by snohetta, an architectural office of that country that has more incredible constructions in the country and that I completely recommend to visit.

The Twist/ museum

The twist is a bridge that is also a museum, its name is because it is a rectangle that is twisted, but the amazing thing is its location, it is above a considerable river, giving it a feeling of floating in the air.

Kjeragbloten 

kjeragbolten is a very special part of the natural landscape of Norway, it is a scary but unforgettable feeling, it is a rock that is stuck on the edge of a mountain, definitely the best place for a photo.

I hope to go to Norway someday.
